Make a difference by raising money to unite families and children affected by Hemiplegia
At Hemichat, we are very proud to be supported by organisations such as Lloyds TSB Banking, Shell UK, Santander and Legal & General .
The following are details of some of the support from our community fundraising events.
Well done to one of our members daughters – 10 year old Niamh McDonagh who ran a ‘splat the rat’ stall and sold some of our merchandise at her School Christmas fayre. Not only did Niamh want to do the fundraiser in honour of her little sister Aine, but she also suggested the idea herself and worked very hard to promote the fundraiser which raised a fantastic £89!. Thank you also to Wood Lane Primary in Stoke-On-Trent for facilitating and supporting us.
Thank you to Martinicca Theatre School, for selecting HemiChat as their charity for their bi yearly Dance Show. All proceeds of programmes were donated to our charity.
Well done to Sarah Curnyn and Justin Jackson for running the Great Eastern Half Marathon in aid of HemiChat, they raised over £638 between them! Sarah said “knowing how much work Hemi Chat can do to help families with the help of charity donations i now find myself unable to pass another opportunity to raise money again for this amazing cause”.
Massive thanks and Well done to one of our Mums Claire Shrimpton who ran the Standalone 10k in aid of HemiChat. Claire finished in a superb time of 47 mins 33 secs and raised £933.26!
Very proud of one of our members, Sarah Dexter who is supporting us with Hemiplegia awareness. Sarah’s 7 year old son, Owen has had his arm put in a cast to help raise awareness and funds for HemiChat whilst supporting his little sister Mia, 22 months, who is currently also wearing a cast for Constraint induced Movement Therapy. (A procedure whereby the non affected arm is cast to encourage use of the Hemiplegia affected arm and hand).
Some of the children for our charity proudly accepted a cheque of £1,175 fundraised by Tchoukball CEO Phil Moore and his son, James. Phil recently completed the Great South run and James, the mini run. The children and parents also very much enjoyed spending time with our charity patron Sascha Kindred OBE and his wife Nyree at Think Tank Museum.
Hats off and a HUGE WELL DONE to little 3yr old Kei Armitage, our very own Hemi Hero, who walked a 1.5km mini run in a little over half an hour to raise funds for HemiChat and make a difference to other kids living with Hemiplegia. What an inspiration this little man is raising £109.25! Congrats and thank you on behalf of all the team
Thanks and well done to Mark McDonagh who finished the Etape Eryri – Snowdonia Cycle Sportive in an amazing time of 04:08:05 at an average pace of 11.37 miles/hr raising a total of £411.57 for us!
